This is Mr. Strickler's class. Students are at various stages of creating their masks. They drew a sketch of their design which had to be based on something important from their personal history. They used paper mache over a mask mold to form a base, then taped on cut and constructed cardboard forms and covered that in additional layers of paper mache ending in a layer of white paper. Several students have begun painting. They will add details like feathers, pipe cleaners, pom-poms, and glitter. Students devise a movement that will go with their mask and then we parade around the school!
